Welcome to our section Info-themes!

Here your will find information which is most useful for consumers as well as examples of problems occurring often and advice how to deal with them.
Listed on the left side are the different sections, whereat the right side you will find the brochures concerning the respective topic.

In order to simplify the orientation, we have listed the main topics below:

1. You plan to buy a house in Germany, Belgium or France and are looking for detailed information? The section “Purchasing a property abroad” and the respective brochure will give you useful information.

2. If you want to rent an apartment abroad, the section “Renting abroad” will provide you with information needed on the topic. We also provide a special brochure for students concerning the topic.

3. With regards to topics such as travelling, problems during the holidays, timesharing, air passenger rights etc. we suggest to consult the section “Timeshare” and “Travels”. Please see also the respective brochures on the right side.

4. If you plan to consult a doctor abroad or look for information regarding getting ill whilst on holidays, you will find useful information in the section “cross-border health care” and the brochure thereto.

5. You regularly buy goods online, order goods from a mail-order catalogue or transfer money onto an account abroad? If so, the sections E-commerce”, “distance selling and cross-border money paymentsmight interest you.

6. Which VAT (value added tax) you have to pay if you buy goods in a neighbouring country is explained in the section “VAT”. In the case of a purchase of a car in an EU country, please see the section “Cars”.

7. In order to get general information on the implied warranty and your stipulated rights, you should consult the section “Your consumer rights”.

8. Our largest section, “fraud” (“arnaques”), provides useful information and examples of different kinds of fraud, may they be via e-mail, letter, telephone, online or during your vacation. A special reference is made to the sample letters you can find in the section “Internet services” (“Services internet”)
