Passenger rights for travels by bus or by coach

In case of cancellation, delay or accident, European passengers who travel by bus or by coach will soon enjoy the same guarantees as air passengers.

The European Parliament adopted the regulation 181/2011 setting out the rights of passengers traveling by bus or by coach. The rights include reimbursements of the ticket price or continuation in case of delayed start of over two hours as well as compensations of up to 1800 € for luggage lost or damaged.

Parliamentarians have also asked for the regulation to apply not only to long-distance trips, but also to regional buses.
